Sex Doll Guide for First Time Buyers

Where can I buy authentic real sex dolls & how do I avoid scam sites? Got questions? Don't worry... This guide will teach you EVERYTHING you need to know before buying your first love doll.
The purpose of this guide is to ensure newcomers and first-time buyers who are less familiar with the sex doll market do not get scammed or tricked into buying something they will regret.

1. Why are you getting a sex doll?

Before you buy, ask yourself:

Companionship?

Sexual exploration?

Fantasy fulfillment?

Photography/modeling?

Knowing your purpose will help guide your choices in realism, price, and features.

2. Pick the Right Material

TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer)

Pros: Softer, more realistic to the touch, cheaper

Cons: More porous (harder to clean), more sensitive to heat

Ideal for: Budget buyers and those prioritizing softness

Silicone:

Pros: Less porous, easier to clean, better for photography (more detailed skin)

Cons: Firmer feel, more expensive

Ideal for: Hygiene-conscious users and those wanting high realism

3: Choose the Right Size & Weight

If you're concerned about lifting or storage, avoid the heaviest models.

4.Customize to Your Preferences

Common customization options:

Height, body shape, breast/butt size

Skin tone, eye color, makeup

Wig style & face (interchangeable heads optional)

Vagina type: Built-in or removable

Feet: Regular or standing (useful for storage)

Add-ons: Heating, moaning, realistic joints, oral/anal compatibility

Start with basic features, then upgrade in future purchases.

Before purchasing:

Ensure dolls over 140cm are legal in your region (some places ban small/young-looking dolls)

Be respectful: sex dolls are private tools, not substitutes for relationships or human consent

7. Tips for First-Time Buyers

Start with a realistic, mid-size TPE doll

Don’t go ultra-cheap — quality matters

Join online forums (e.g., The Doll Forum) for tips, reviews, and troubleshooting

Be patient — production can take 2–4 weeks

8. Set a Budget

TPE Sex Doll VS Silicone Sex Doll:

Our dolls are made of medical-grade and Food-grade TPE/Silicone material, which doesn’t have any harm to your body; it is very healthy and safe. Its elasticity is two times higher than average TPE/Silicone, so it’s not easy to tear, more secure, reliable, stable, and Comfortable.

Making Up:

Our dolls are made by trained and experienced workers, so we promise that the doll you will get will be the same as the pictures. We always make up the shape of eyebrow, lipstick color, and blush according to the customer’s request by handmade, one by one, not in batches.

Wig/Hair VS Implanted Hair

1. Wigs are generally used on TPE heads, and implanted hair is generally used on silicone heads.

2. Hair transplants are more realistic and more like real people than wigs.

3. Wigs are cheaper, but Softer, more squishy, and realistic to the touch. Hair has complicated procedures and very high labor costs, so the price of hair transplantation is much higher than that of wigs.

4. Wigs are easy to clean and wash because their wigs can be removed, while implanted hair is permanent hair that not easy to clean.

Moaning Function:

The moaning function (also called a "voice function" or "audio system") adds sound effects—usually moaning or verbal expressions—to enhance realism and emotional engagement during use. This feature is common in mid-to-high-end sex dolls and robot dolls.

Heating Function:

The heating function is a built-in or external system that warms the doll’s body (usually the torso or full body) to simulate natural human body temperature—around 37°C (98.6°F).

Electric Hips：

The sex doll electric hips innovation has solved the problem of a lack of interaction and mobility. The electric hip sex doll comes with automatic machine parts, embedded within the buttock's region, allowing for dolls to twist and move just like a real human.

Sucking Vagina:

A crazy sex doll sex function! Unlike ordinary sex dolls, one click activates the sucking and vibrating functions inside her vagina. It will tightly wrap around your penis and bring orgasm, making your sexual process more passionate. Start your passionate moment! You can't refuse the pleasure she brings you..

Auto Blowjob:

Blowjob Sex Doll embeds automatic machine parts into sex dolls, so that sexdolls can perform oral sex on their own, allowing you to enjoy more direct andintense pleasure!

Blowjob sex dolls are available in two configurations. Depending on your needs, you can choose a charging configuration or a plug-in configuration.

Range of Motion and Posture:

Sex dolls are equipped with alloy skeletons. In addition to areas such as the neck, shoulders, and knees, we optimize the doll's fingers, wrists, and ankles. As a result, the weight of the doll becomes lighter and the joints become more flexible. The doll's skin is also refined, including wrinkled skin around the joints. The detailed face makes the doll look and feel lifelike, realistic, smooth, and soft.

Breast Option:

Here are three major breast type options you can always choose: solid, hollow, and gel breasts. Now, let’s learn more about these breast options.

Solid Breasts :

Solid breasts also called standard breasts. They are filled with premium TPE or Silcone  material. These breasts are firm and perky, and still have the decent softness and bounce that you can expect from good TPE and silicone material. If you’re not too picky, you don’t need to upgrade them and solid breast option will be realistic enough.

Note: If you want to have a silicone made breasts, you have to opt for a silicone doll body.

Hollow Breasts:

Hollow breasts are air-filled boobs, not a TPE or gel. They are more realistic and extremely squishy. It is an amazing feeling to grab these breasts and watch them bounce back relentlessly. No added cost to upgrade. It is good choice if you really like a pair of super-soft, light bouncy breasts. If you want a chubby sex doll with huge breasts, you can choose hollow breasts to decrease the weight. But if you’re overly obsessed with heavier breasts, this might not be the right choice for you.

Gel Breasts:

Gel breasts are the best option for realistic sex doll breasts. They are soft like hollow breasts, firm and perky like solid breasts. The gel is also used in real women and most closely mimics the feel and movement of real boobs. They are soft and would not sag easily. Gel breasts are a worthwhile upgrade if you like the most lifelike sex doll breasts.

Removable Tongue and Fixed tongue:

If you want your doll to show her tongue you can buy the removable tongue

It is inserted in the mouth and it is not fixed so it doesn't enhance the sexual experience it is just aesthetical.

The installation is very simple. If you are worried that it will affect your oral sex experience, just take it out before use.

If you don't like a removable tongue, a fixed tongue is a good option. The tongue is fixed and cannot be removed。

Skeleton Options:

In the process of purchasing sex doll, some new doll players may be confused about the choice of standard EVO skeletons and EVO skeletons. So what’s the difference between the standard skeletons and EVO skeletons? In this blog, we will give you a detailed explanation here.

Standard Skeleton

1. Standard skeleton doesn’t allow your doll to shrug its shoulders.
2. Most standard skeletons can only bend forwards and backwards.
3. The elbows and knees can be bent slightly, about 90 degrees.

EVO Skeleton

1. Upgraded (EVO) skeleton can make your doll shrug its shoulders. More realistic and can assume different poses more freely.
2. The spine is more flexible and can lean left and right, which helps in creating the hot intimate times desired by doll lovers worldwide.
3. Legs can be bent into W position or downwards to touch buttocks.

Compared to the standard skeleton, EVO is a more advanced skeleton, which is super flexible and allows for more natural, human-like posing for both modeling/photography and sexual positions. Normally, you need to pay extra to upgrade the skeleton of your doll. So if you do not have more requirements for joints flexibility, just simple postures, the standard skeleton will meet your needs. If you’re always looking for more flexibility in your dolls, EVO skeleton is your best choice.

Vagina Options:

When buying a doll, one of the most important things to consider is finding one that is more real and suitable to our needs. Therefore, choosing a vagina becomes an integral part in the doll selection process. Fortunately, there are 3 vagina types that are available: the originally Fixed Vagina, the Removable Vagina, and the latest Lubricant-free Vagina. Each type has its own advantages and unique features that can surely match anyone’s preferences.

 1. Fixed Vagina

This type of vagina is an original since it gives the feel of a real woman vagina. Moreover, it has the qualities that allow it for long time use. If you’re looking for something that feels tight and textured, the doll’s vaginal barrel definitely matches the criteria. Molded in the doll from the time it is created, the vaginal barrel is steady enough and can never be moved. As a result, however, cleaning the vagina can be tedious and more challenging.

 2. Removable Vagina

Made from the same thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) as your sex doll, the removable vagina is a removable tube that has the flexibility and ductility features of the TPE material. The diameter is large enough to make the vagina more secure inside your doll and unable to be pulled out during use. While the outer part of the tube is smooth that allows easy insertion and removal, the inside part is tight which resembles a fixed vagina. After use, the replaceable vagina in the sex doll can be easily cleaned which makes this type of vagina a more comfortable and hygienic option.

 3. Lubricant-free Vagina

As the name implies, the lubricant-free vagina requires no lubricant which is perfect for those situations when a lubricant is not available. Simply pour water into the vagina and you can get a lubricated feel and effect. Available in the instockdoll lineups , the lubricant-free vagina has condensed lubricant feature that decreases after dissolution. The TPE has an added special mucosa that secretes lubricant every time you add water to it even if it’s only a few drops. Proven and tested in ins Dolls laboratories, the lubricant-free vagina is also removable and can self-lubricate up to 50 times for a period of around 6 months. After this period, it will require lubrication which makes it similar to regular inserts.

We want you to feel confident - So we offer a full money-back guarantee on all orders. If your doll arrives damaged or significantly misdescribed we'll either offer you a replacement or a refund (when a replacement is not possible). It’s that simple.

Customers will be asked to work and co-operate with our support team in diagnosing faults by providing videos, phots and further information. In some cases, customers may be asked to complete minor fixes with our guidance and help before a replacement is offered.

How does the money-back guarantee work?

When you receive your doll, you must inspect it immediately - from head to toe. Do not use your doll before inspection. We recommend taking photos of the exterior of the box and of the doll as you unbox it.

When reporting an issue, please specify as detailed as possible, the exact problem/s. Please include any clear photos or videos.

I have used my doll, am I still covered?

We pride ourselves on great customer service, and we will always genuinely try to solve any issues you have with your purchase, however, the sex doll industry has extremely strict laws and regulations in regard to "used" sex toys that we do not control. In order to qualify for a money-back guarantee, your doll must be ‘as new’ (not used), and in the original packaging.

If you have used the doll, please contact us and we will always do our best to fix any issues or problems you have.

What is not covered under the money-back guarantee?

Minor imperfections are not considered damage and are not covered by our money-back guarantee. Minor imperfections include skin blemishes, scratches, marks, compression marks, dents, micro-cuts, slight variations in the skin's surface, loose or missing fingernails/toenails, loose or missing eyelashes, minor discrepancies and inconsistency with facial make-up, and/ or body make-up.

Minor skin imperfections and slight variations in the skin's surface caused by the manufacturing process such as injection sites and seam lines from the moulds are not considered defects and are not covered by our money-back guarantee. We like to think of these as "birthmarks" that make your doll unique.

Minor skin damage caused by courier/transport companies that is easily repairable, such as slight cuts, abrasions etc on the skin where Silicone Lovers can provide assistance and tools to repair. Customers are expected to make reasonable attempts to repair as per Silicone Lovers advice.

Finger & toenails on the dolls occasionally become loose during transit. If they are loose, simply remove them and re-apply with nail glue as guided in our cleaning & maintenance.

Eyelashes occasionally can also become loose, simply follow the instructions as guided in our cleaning & maintenance.

Every doll is hand-made, including the application of semi-permanent makeup. As a result, there will be minor discrepancies with every doll being unique. You will receive photos of your doll before it is shipped from the workshop. If the makeup is substantially different from what you were expecting, this will be noticed and can be rectified before the doll leaves the workshop. We trust that customers will point out any issues when viewing the photos sent via email. We cannot be responsible for issues that were clearly visible to you in the approval process and were not flagged eg incorrect hair or eye colour or upgrades that were not checked eg gel breasts.

Please be aware we cannot offer warranty on many of our electrical upgrades due to the nature of our products but we may be able to advise on repairs or offer refunds, dependent on the manufacturer and if they are deemed faulty within a certain time frame. You may be asked to trouble shoot and provide videos to resolve these issues.

As above, used dolls are not eligible for our 100% money back guarantee, but we are open to resolving issues and helping whenever we can.

User damage – If any damage is deemed to be caused by mishandling or negligence by the customer, the doll will not be covered. This includes hyperextension of limbs and tears caused by mishandling, dragging feet, snapping fingers etc. We reserve the right to review the doll and evaluate the source of damage with all the information provided. A final decision will be made at the discretion of Silicone Lovers.

If you have made any specific requests or have custom requirements (including change of skin colour/ nipple size/ vagina colour etc), your doll is considered customised and made  to order for you and you only. We will happily discuss returning and refunding the sex doll if you are not happy with it, but we cannot guarantee a full refund. Your case will be considered individually.
